40 Days for Life—David Bereit…Ever since 40 Days for Life grew into a national – and then international – movement, beginning back in 2007, we have been blessed to see:
- More than 2,800 lives saved from abortion…
- Thirty-eight abortion workers experience conversions and leave the abortion industry…
- FIVE abortion centers have gone out of business following 40 Days for Life campaigns outside their doors.
The National Women’s Health Abortion Center in Raleigh, North Carolina – outside of which 40 Days for Life campaigns have been conducted — is no longer doing abortions as of June 26th. (more…)

“Endangered Species”
A Billboard campaign in Georgia is educating people about abortion’s roots – and fueling a national movement aiming to end it once and for all! |
The message was simple and powerful. A tight shot of a black infant’s face, accompanied by the words “Black children are an endangered species. TooManyAborted.com.” A message stretched across a billboard 48 feet wide and repeated 80 times.
That’s what drivers on highways throughout Georgia’s DeKalb and Fulton counties saw between January 21st and March 31st of this year, a grim acknowledgement of the fact that the Peach State leads the nation in abortions performed on black women – 20,866 in 2008 alone. And DeKalb and Fulton counties, which are predominantly black, also happen to be where most of the state’s abortion clinics are concentrated.
It would be an amazing coincidence, the billboards’ creators say, if not for the fact that it is so insidiously intentional. (more…)

Patient Safety Ordinance Passes on Good Friday . . . Cathie Humbarger…Thank God for Good Friday! May we be reminded of the ultimate sacrifice Jesus made for our redemption as we make our small sacrifices to serve Him. After 18 months of unrelenting effort, prayer and phone calls, I am pleased to report that the Allen County Commissioners passed the Patient Safety Ordinance today with a unanimous vote.
Under this ordinance all itinerant physicians are required to:
- File verification of emergency contact information with the Allen Co. Health Department prior to providing medical care in Allen County, Indiana. A $250 filing fee will be paid at the time of filing.
- File verification of emergency contact information and alternate physician designee with all Allen County operating hospitals, emergency departments and urgent care providers.
- Notify the patient orally and in writing of the emergency contact information if complications arise. Keep on file as a permanent record a copy of such written notification signed by the patient to whom it was provided.
The entire text of the ordinance will be posted on our website at www.ichooselife.org as soon as it is available.
Please join me in thanking Commissioner Nelson Peters, Linda Bloom and Bill Brown and Dr. Geoff Cly and numerous physicians for improving the care of all patients of itinerant physicians. And, of course, thank the Lord for allowing us to be a part of what he is doing. (more…)

“A Hope Center” 25th Anniversary—Twenty-five years of caring for those with a very special need does not just happen. It is a process of building that all began with the solid foundation that was laid back in 1984 by a group of believers who were committed to making a difference in the lives of women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy. Starting out as the Crisis Pregnancy Center, the name was changed in recent years to A Hope Center. Caring counselors help women and couples to evaluate their choices, and a very persuasive consideration is the use of the ultrasound. Ultrasound brings love to light when the mother sees her baby. One such story, Amy and her mother came to the center together the day of the ultrasound, and both were adamant that abortion was the only option they were considering. How was a teenager going to support a little one, much less exhibit the patience and energy to be a mother? As the ultrasound began, the nurse’s spirit was deep in prayer, for the task at hand felt humanly impossible. Amy’s mother stood back from the table, admitting that she “did not really want to see” the picture on the ultrasound monitor. However, God had another plan! There before our eyes, He placed the unmistakable image of a precious little baby moving about…waving its arms…dancing. As the ultrasound progressed, the nurse’s heart soared as she watched Amy’s mother begin to inch closer to the monitor, and after a few minutes, take her daughter’s hand. With tears in their eyes, they rejoiced as Amy’s mother leaned over her daughter on the table and, pointing to the tiny baby on the screen, exclaimed: “Honey! That’s MY GRANDCHILD!” (more…)
